Hi, I'm rather new to the tool, but I want to use it for our next game, as it's heavy on dialogs, so I'm learning the ropes. And I'm having an issue that I've had with the tutorials (I did the slime, the SD character (the only one what didn't had an issue) and the facial expression-girl), that when using a [0-1] float control parameter and a Morph (Controller) the layers is always hidden, no matter what I turn on in the keyframe. On the slime it was the exclamation, on the expression girl was one of the mouths. So I figure I should try with a PSD/illustration of my own.
In my current attempt I've two keys:
At 0, no swept, mesh layer is hidden.
At 1, swept, mesh layer is showing.
I had the theory that when I had it on the base configuration as hidden it might give errors when forcing to be shown, or maybe when another controller was previously keying that mesh it might interfere, but in both accounts the mouth controller is showing by-default hidden objects that are also controlled by the Head Direction controller.
Everything else is working more or less as it should, but I don't know what I'm hitting or not doing correctly, that always happens when I use controllers. That half-green/half-gray eye is hunting me! hahaha
Any help is more than welcome!
Hi!
The green eye icon performs the function of "show or hide unconditionally regardless of modifier state".
This function is for convenience of work, so it may not be the cause of this problem.
We don't know exactly how you have it set up to control the visibility of the mesh, but it's likely that the mesh's visibility isn't working properly due to some "other Control Parameter".
First, let me explain under this assumption.
When multiple control parameters control the visibility or Alpha of a particular mesh, the mesh is shown or hidden according to the following rules:
When all control parameters make the mesh visible > Visible
When any of the control parameters make the mesh hidden> Hidden
For Alpha, the Multiply rule is applied, so the Alpha values (0 to 1) for each control parameter overlap and become increasingly transparent.
So here's what we're guessing:
Another control parameter has that mesh (Swet) added to it.
Another control parameter is making the Swet mesh invisible.
As a result, it seems like the Swet mesh remains hidden regardless of the "Swet" Control Parameter.
In particular, the hidden state of Swet can be unintentionally keyed by "when adding a mesh to a control parameter, the default visibility is reflected as a starting key value".
So first, find another control parameter that controls Swet.
And in other control parameters except "Swet Control Parameter", make Swet always visible or disable Color Option.
Then it will work normally.
If the issue persists, please leave a comment again!
When you leave a comment, please let us know how the keys for the Swet mesh are set in other modifiers or other control parameters, so we can better understand the issue.
Thanks.
