Hi,
I think I am running into a bug...
I added a wing movement control parameter and added a Morph (Controller) stack modifier.. In the right hand side menu, I am able to select a mesh, and the vertices appear on the screen. Then I select "Start Editing" and am able to select vertices and manipulate them fine.
After some point while working on the vertices, not sure of exact reproduction steps, AnyPortrait starts selecting the point of origin in the background instead of the mesh vertices (see attached screenshot).
I still am in Editing mode and the mesh is still selected in the right hand side menu but there is no way to select any mesh vertices. The only thing that is selectable is the point of origin in the background grid. I tried ctrl-A and tried mouse right click and drag (both methods normally work) but now I can only select the point of origin as indicated in the attached screen capture. I also tried switching to the Rigging Stack Modifier and back. I noticed that Bone Rigging is now also broken - i.e. no vertices can be selected there either - just that background point of origin... I also tried turning on/off the light bulb next to the selected modifier in the modifier stack, which did not help... I also tried toggling the lock icons at the bottom left corner of the screen, which did not fix the problem either. I also tried toggling ALL icons in the top menu bar - nothing fixed the problem. I also tried selecting different meshes, adding and removing controller keys, but nothing works...
At this point I have to close the AnyPortrait editor and re-open it to be able to select vertices again. It will work for a few minutes and go back into the bad mode making it unusable... This bug makes it difficult to complete the animation. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
- Wael
Hi, Wael.
First of all, we are sorry for the inconvenience.
We haven't reported any similar cases yet, and we've just tested it but haven't reproduced the problem.
In your post and attached screenshots, we don't see anything that could be causing the problem.
However, except that an error always occurs over time.
So we don't know the exact cause, but based on "the same problem occurs after a few minutes", we recommend that you check the following:
(1) Check if saving the Auto-Backup caused an error.
The only function that works every few minutes in AnyPortrait editor is Auto-Backup.
Please check if this problem occurs after Auto-Backup is executed. (While Auto-Backup is being performed, a message and icon appear on the upper left of the workspace.)
Also, you can set the time of backup and whether to run Auto-Backup in the Setting Dialog.
Auto-Backup works normally in our test, but saving files may cause unexpected problems depending on the device, so it is worth checking.
(2) Check if Error Logs are recorded in the Console window.
An error may have occurred in the code of AnyPortrait Editor.
AnyPortrait prints the error log to the Console window, so checking this allows us to find the exact cause.
Open the Console window (or Console tab) of the Unity Editor to see if an error has occurred, please report the error log.
(3) File Cloud service may cause problems.
This is just our guess.
If the sync function of the File Cloud service works normally, access to open files will be restricted.
But if not, we've guessed that "the data handled by AnyPortrait and the contents of the actual file do not match" may cause an error.
Of course, there is also the possibility of an error occurring regardless of the "time".
However, it is difficult for us to determine the cause of the problem with current information.
If you provide us with additional information or a working file where the problem occurred, including the checklist above, we will quickly find the cause and resolution.
If you are sending a file, we recommend sending it to our email.

Thank you.
